Precious metals production drops in Kazakhstan

Manufacturing volume of non-processed and semi-processed silver in Kazakhstan has amounted to 393,555 kg over the first five months of 2020, which is 1.7 percent less than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, non-processed and semi-processed silver production amounted to 86,529 kg in May 2020, which is5.7 percent more than in May 2019.

Manufacturing of non-processed and semi-processed gold increased by 9 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 44,122 kg (8,855 kg in May 2020, drop by 4.3 percent compared to May 2019).

Production of non-processed aluminum and aluminum oxide amounted to 678,799 tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase by 0.1 percent compared to the same period of last year. The production volume of non-processed aluminum and aluminum oxide was 139,129 tons in May 2020, which is 6.3 percent less than in May 2019.

Manufacturing of non-processed refined lead amounted to 53,839 tons over the reporting period, which is 4 percent less than during the same period of 2019. The volume of non-processed refined lead produced in May 2020 was 12,277 tons, which is 12.6 percent more than in May 2019.

Production of non-processed zinc amounted to 131,748 tons, which is 3.5 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (24,531 tons in May 2020, decrease by 13.4 percent compared to May 2019).

As reported, manufacturing of non-processed non-alloyed refined copper amounted to 208,922 tons, which is 10.9 percent more than during the same period of 2019 (43,837 tons in May 2020, increase by 13.2 percent compared to May 2019).

Manufacturing of other non-ferrous metals and products from them amounted to 22,741 tons, which is 10 percent more than during the same period of 2019 (3,943 tons in May 2020, decrease by 17.3 percent compared to May 2019).
