Sixty-four freight and passenger wagons have been produced by Wagon Pars Company in the Markazi Province in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), Managing Director of the company Mohammad Reza Mokhtari told IRNA, Trend reports.
Of them, 60 are freight wagons and 4 are passenger wagons, Mokhtari added.
The director noted that the cost of each freight wagon ranged from 6.5 billion rials (about $154,000) to 12 billion rials ($285,000).
Mokhtari said that the cost of each Chinese-made passenger wagon is more than 830,000 euros, while each produced by the company stood at the cost of 500,000-550,000 euros and had higher quality.
"It was planned to produce about 600 passenger and freight wagons in the current Iranian year. However, the company intends to produce 750 wagons," he said.
So far, the Iranian Wagon Pars Company has produced 12,000 freight, 400 passenger and 300 subway wagons.
