Kazakhstan, Turkey to cooperate in SMEs development

Turkey’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB) and Kazakhstan’s DAMU Entrepreneurship Development Fund JSC are cooperating to develop small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the DAMU fund told Trend.

The corresponding agreement was reached during the XI meeting of the Kazakh-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation held in Istanbul (Turkey) on Nov. 10, 2019.

Following the meeting, the sides adopted a Joint Action Plan consisting of 65 paragraphs in areas such as trade, investments, industry, transport, education, healthcare, tourism and other sectors. Additionally, an intergovernmental agreement on international combined transportation of goods was signed.

The agreement also provided for cooperation development between DAMU and KOSGEB.

In particular, the document oversees the participation of SME specialists from KOSGEB in the knowledge and experience sharing program organized by DAMU fund from 2020 through 2022.

The agreed activities are to be monitored by KOSGEB and Turkey’s Ministry of Industry and Trade from one side, and Kazakhstan’s DAMU fund from the other.
