Azerbaijan’s Khirdalan plant to increase production volume of metal structures

Azerbaijan’s Khirdalan plant, which is producing metal structures and is owned by the Akkord steel construction company, maintains stable production volumes during the quarantine regime imposed amid the threat of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, a source in the plant told Trend.

Some 300 tons of products are produced monthly at the plant, and the annual output reaches 3,600 tons of metal.

The plant intends to increase the production volume by 15 - 20 percent and open the new production lines in autumn, the source added.

Currently, the plant produces metal parts for cement plants. Several types of induction furnaces with a capacity of 1,000 and 2,000 kg, cold rolling machines, additional tools for metal casting, heat treatment furnaces, equipment for sand cooling and other tools for metal casting are installed at the plant.

Akkord company is implementing the projects both domestically and abroad to reconstruct road infrastructure, water supply and sewerage systems. The total number of employees is about 5,000 people.

The main goal of the company is to participate in significant local and regional projects, expand the scope of activity outside Azerbaijan and develop as a transnational company, competitive at the world level.

The company intends to create favorable conditions for the implementation of big infrastructure, industrial and oil projects.
