Two plants to be put into operation in Iran's Fars Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 8

Two plants will be put into operation at the Pasargad Steel Complex in Fars Province (southern Iran) tomorrow, on July 9, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Fars Province Hamidreza Izadi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

According to him, these plants can produce 1.8 million tons of sponge iron and 3.4 million tons of iron pellets per year.

"In total, 51 trillion rials [about $1.21 billion] have been spent on the construction, and 674 people will be employed with the commissioning of the plants," the chairman said.

Izadi emphasized that 26 trillion rials (about $619 million) have been spent on the construction of the sponge iron plant and with the commissioning of the plant 376 people will be employed.

He noted that 25 trillion rials (about $595 million) have been allocated for the construction of the iron pellet plant and about 300 workers will be employed at the enterprise.
