BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 16

By Ilkin Seyfaddini - Trend:

The Uzbek government may sell the sanatoriums in Bostanliq district in Tashkent region to the private sector, Trend reports citing the Uzbek Ministry of Justice.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on measures for further efficient use of land resources and state property.

In accordance with the decree, starting from November 1, 2020, land tax benefits in respect of land plots occupied by recreational facilities, in particular, rest homes; places of mass recreation of the population, if they are allocated for business activities; resort facilities, if they are located in tourist zones, will be abolished.

The Parliament of Uzbekistan and the Councils of People's Deputies of the regions are authorized to apply reduced property tax and land tax rates to the lands occupied by individual sanatorium and resort facilities in tourist zones, or to exempt from these taxes.

By September 1, 2020, Uzbek government will develop proposals to selling departmental rest homes, resorts, sanatoriums and other facilities (except for children's rest camps) located in Bostanliq, with 50 percent or more state share, to the private sector.

During the preparation of the draft State Budget for 2021, regional government bodies will be able to set a higher land tax rate in respect to certain land plots, including land plots used by individuals with an area of more than one hectare and located in tourist zones of Uzbekistan, the message said.
