Uzbekistan exported a large volume of different types of fertilizers from Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries in the period from January through May 2020, Trend reports citing statistics of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
In total, in the reporting period, Uzbekistan imported 28,422 tons of nitrogen fertilizers worth $12.5 million (which is a 43-percent decrease compared to the same period of 2019), 115.8 tons of phosphate fertilizers worth $57,360 (increase by 2.4 times), 113.8 tons of potash fertilizers worth $55,987 (decrease by 42 percent) and 14,137 tons of mineral fertilizers worth more than $3 million (increase by 41 percent).
Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were the main exporters of fertilizers to Uzbekistan in the period from January through May 2020.
The share of Kazakhstan in nitrogen fertilizers exports was 58 percent and of Kyrgyzstan’s was 41.7 percent, while in mineral fertilizers exports it was 5.9 percent and 94.1 percent, respectively.
The whole volume of Uzbekistan’s export of phosphate and potash fertilizers in the period from January through May 2020 accounted for Kyrgyzstan.
