Turkmenistan increases export of clothing to EAEU countries

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12

Turkmenistan increased the export of clothing items to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from January through May 2020, Trend reports with reference to statistical data of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

During the reporting period, Turkmenistan exported 139,927 pieces of men's textile clothing to Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, which is 4.5 times more than in the same period last year.

The value of exported men's textile clothing amounted to $867,792, which is 5.7 times compared to the amount of the same period last year.

In the first five months of the current year, Turkmenistan exported 24 tons of hosiery to Kazakhstan and Russia, which shows an increase by 2.3 times.

The total amount of exported hosiery from Turkmenistan to these EAEU member countries was $147,884, showing a 48-percent increase yer-on-year.

During this period, Turkmenistan also exported 15,160 pieces of knitted t-shirts to Kazakhstan for a total of $6,479.

In addition, Turkmenistan exported 5,301 pieces of women's upper textile clothing to Russia, for a total of $54,348.
