Purchase of wheat continues in Iran's Hamadan Province

About 413,738 tons of wheat has been purchased from farmers in the Hamadan Province (western Iran) from June 1 to August 12, said Masoud Bokaee director of Government Trading Corporation (GTC) of Iran’s branch in Hamadan Province, Trend reports citing the corporation’s portal.

The director said that the value of wheat purchased from farmers to date, has exceeded 10.4 trillion rials (about $248 million).

Bokaee emphasized that in addition, 1,938 tons of rapeseed has been purchased in the Hamadan Province, so far. The value of rapeseed purchased from farmers in the province was more than 90 billion rials (about $2.14 million).

The price of ordinary wheat to be purchased from farmers in the current planting year is set at 25,000 rials (about 59 cents), and of durum wheat - at 26,000 rials (about 61 cents) per kilogram in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020). The price of rapeseed is set at 46,600 rials (about $1.1) per kilogram.

A number of products, including wheat, tea, rice and other products are purchased from farmers by a state company under a guarantee in Iran.
