Kazakhstan's import of Azerbaijani products drops

The share of Kazakhstan in total imports of Azerbaijan declined from 1.71 to 0.82 percent in the first seven months of 2020 of the total import volume, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

From January through July of this year, foreign trade operations of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan amounted to $64.7 million, slumping 2.4 times compared to the same period of last year.

“The export of Azerbaijani products to Kazakhstan over the reporting period made up $16.5 million, while a year earlier - $14.4 million. Thus, Kazakhstan purchased 14.5 percent more products from Azerbaijan than in the same period last year,” said the report.

As reported, Kazakhstan’s share in the total export of Azerbaijan grew from 0.12 to 0.18 percent of the total export volume.

Meanwhile, the import volume of Kazakh products to Azerbaijan showed a slump of 2.9 times over the year, having decreased from $144.1 million to $48.2 million.

Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover of the two countries for the reporting period turned out to be negative and amounted to $31.7 million.
