Israeli market's demand for Turkish carpets edges up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug.31

Carpet exports from Turkey to Israel rose by 8.35 percent in the first 7 months of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, and made up $18.1 million, the Turkish Ministry of Commerce told Trend.

In July 2020, carpet exports from Turkey to Israel grew by 15.56 percent compared to July 2019 and amounted to over $3.3 million.

In the period from January through July 2020, carpet exports from Turkey to the global market decreased by 7.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to $1.2 billion.

Carpet export accounted for 1.4 percent of the country's total exports for the reporting period.

In July 2020, Turkey exported $249 million worth of carpets to world markets, which is 12 percent more than in the same month in 2019.

Carpets exports in July 2020 accounted for 1.7 percent of the country's total exports. For the last 12 months (July 2019 - July 2020) Turkey exported carpets worth $2.4 billion.
