Russian’ Astrakhan interested in importing Turkmen textiles

Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation is interested in importing textile and other industrial products from Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to “Turkmenistan: Zolotoy Vek” (Turkmenistan: Golden Age).

This was said during the meeting of the Consul of Turkmenistan in the Astrakhan region, Guich Garayev with President of Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tatyana Shateeva.

Astrakhan, in turn, is ready to export flour products and grain crops to Turkmenistan, the report says.

The parties also discussed the possibility of increasing mutual trade turnover by sea transportation.

The main topic of the meeting was the issues of building up bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including at the level of business communities, and holding an online meeting of the Turkmen-Astrakhan joint Council on entrepreneurship.

Earlier, Consul of Turkmenistan in Russia’s Astrakhan, Guych Garayev, and Governor of Russia’s Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin discussed the possibility of opening a logistics center for Turkmen goods on the territory of a new economic zone near Olya port on the Caspian Sea of Russia’s Astrakhan during their meeting.

The parties considered issues related to the establishment of direct flights between Turkmenistan and Astrakhan and noted that direct flights will help strengthen economic contacts and, stimulate the development of tourism and business relations.
