Leguminous crop - mung bean is being harvested in Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region, Trend reports with reference to the newspaper “ Turkmenistan: Zolotoy Vek” (Turkmenistan: Golden Age).
Mung bean was planted on 3,700 hectares of land, mainly as an intermediate crop after harvesting winter wheat. According to the plan, this year at least 5,500 tons of mung bean will be collected from the fields.
The largest area under mash was assigned to Akdepinsky and Koneurgench districts of the Dashoguz region, as well as in district named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi.
Private structures are also actively involved in harvesting. The machine removed from the fields undergoes strict quality control in specialized laboratories.
Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
The development of agriculture is carried out on a scientific basis. Various types of crops are grown taking into account the agro-ecological characteristics of the country's regions.
Special attention is paid to increasing the volume of products in Turkmenistan. As a result, in recent years, the country has increased the production of vegetables and fruit and berries and enlarged the area of perennial plants, vineyards, and greenhouses.
