A terminal on the exports of agricultural goods will soon be built in the Astara County of Gilan Province (northern Iran), Director for Agriculture Department of the Gilan Province Masoud Almasi said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Almasi noted that the area has already been allocated in this regard, and the terminal will be built by the private sector.
The director added that 40 types of goods are exported through Iran's Astara border checkpoint every year.
"A total of 247,000 tons of agricultural goods worth $25.3 million were exported to Azerbaijan and Russia through Iran's Astara border customs during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020)," he said.
The director emphasized that also, 29,400 tons of agricultural goods were imported through the Astara border customs during the reporting period.
