Kazakhstan's revenue from transport via pipelines down year-on-year

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the product transportation via pipelines amounted to 1 trillion tenge ($2.3 billion) over nine months of 2020, which is 8.3 percent less than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The revenue for Sept. 2020 amounted to 106.4 billion tenge ($248.6 million), which is 6.1 percent less compared to Sept. 2019.

The volume of transported during the reporting period amounted to 190.6 million tons, which is 8.2 percent less compared to the same period of last year (18.6 million in Sept. 2020, 11.2 percent less compared to Sept. 2019)

Cargo turnover amounted to 92.5 billion ton-kilometers which is 9 percent less than during the same period of last year. The cargo turnover for Sept. 2020 stood at 9.3 billion t-km, which is 11.4 percent less compared to the same month of 2020.

The majority of the products transported via pipelines accounted for the Atyrau region of the country, i.e. 79.9 million tons over nine months of 2020, which is 5.5 percent less compared to the same period last year (29.1 million tons in Sept. 2020, 6.9 percent less year-on-year).

Kazakhstan’s largest oil pipeline company is KazTransOil, which provides services on oil transportation on the domestic market and for export.

The company is an owner of the largest network of main oil pipelines and water lines in the country, the total length of which amounts to 5,376 km of oil pipelines and 1,975 km of water pipeline.
