Tangerine harvest begins in Georgia

Tangerine harvest has already begun in Georgia, Trend reports via the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.

According to the agency, the harvest forecast is up to 40,000 tons.

The appropriate headquarters is working to organize the harvest and accommodation. Custom tangerines are delivered, processed, controlled and registered electronically.

Up to 30 enterprises will receive a non-standard harvest. Up to 7,000 tons of non-standard tangerines are expected this year.

To date, 653 tons of tangerines have already been exported from Georgia, the cost of which amounted to $295,000.

The tangerines produced this year were mainly exported to the Russian Federation (185 tons). Georgian mandarins were also exported to Ukraine, Moldova and Kazakhstan.

The price for citrus fruits will range from 80 to 1.20 tetri (24 cents - 37 cents).
