Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange disclosed

A total of 456,000 tons of goods worth more than 51 trillion rials (about $1.21 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (November 14 through November 19), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

However, 387,000 tons of goods worth more than 35 trillion rials (about $833 million) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week (November 7 through November 11).

According to the report, the sales increased by 45 percent in terms of value and by 17 percent in terms of volume compared to the preceding Iranian week.

"More than 187,000 tons of goods worth about 26.9 trillion rials (about $641 million) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME," the report said.

Thus, 182,000 tons of steel, 2,280 tons of aluminum, 3,000 tons of copper, 120 tons of molybdenum sulfur, 9 tons of precious metal concentrate and 20 tons of sink ingots were sold in this section.

"At the same time, 268,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 24.7 trillion rials (about $589 million) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME in the last Iranian week," the report said.

According to the report, 89,500 tons of vacuum bottom, 74,800 tons of bitumen, 48,700 tons of polymeric substances, 29,900 tons of chemicals, 17,000 tons of lube cut, 1,770 tons of glass facades, 1,950 tons base oil, 3,000 tons of slaps wax, 150 tons of argon, and 1,290 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 468 tons of various products were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
