Iran boosts its pistachio exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 26

Iran's pistachio exports increased by 82.5 percent in terms of value and 131 percent in terms of volume during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 2 through November 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

According to Latifi, Iran exported 110,000 tons of pistachios worth $676 million during the reporting period.

While in the same period last year, Iran exported 47,000 tons of pistachios worth $371 million, he added.

The spokesman added that the price of pistachios exported by Iran is more than $6.4 for per kilogram.

Iran exported 75 million tons of goods worth $21.5 billion over 8 months. Iran's exports decreased by 19 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In general, Iran's foreign trade turnover amounted to 97.7 million tons worth $44.6 billion within the first eight months of the current Iranian year.
