The manufacturing of car in Iran increased by 21 percent and the television by 61 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Saeed Zarandi said, Trend reports citing the ministry.
According to Zarandi, a total of 543,000 cars and 797,000 TV sets were manufactured within 8 months.
Zarandi added that Iran's copper cathode production increased by 9 percent in 8 months compared to the same period last Iranian year and amounted to 192,000 tons.
The deputy minister emphasized that at the same time Iran's crude steel production in 8 months increased by 8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year and amounted to 19 million tons, cement production - by 15 percent to 48 million tons, and car tires - by 25 percent to 178,000 tons.
“However, the manufacturing of buses, minibuses, vans, paper, coal concentrate, glass containers decreased over the reporting period compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.
