Azerbaijan Amelioration and Water Management OJSC will receive funds worth 405.8 million manat ($238.7 million) from the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2021, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Finance.
The funds will be directed to ensure the effective use of existing water resources in the country, improve water management, reduce water losses, improve the supply of irrigation water to farmers, improve land reclamation, introduce new agricultural land and expand irrigated land.
According to the data, extra-budgetary expenses of organizations financed from the agricultural expenditures section of the state budget for 2021 will amount to 10.9 million manat ($6.41 million), which is 1.6 million manat ($941,000) or 17.3 percent more compared to 2020.
The main task of Azerbaijan Amelioration and Water Management OJSC is to manage water resources, provide various sectors of the country's economy, mainly agricultural, irrigation water and improve the land reclamation state.
