Iran's budget plan requires fundamental changes - MP

TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.25

Trend:

Iranian government's budget plan for the new Iranian year (begins on March 21, 2021) requires serious changes and negotiations, said vice president of budget consolidation commission in the parliament Mohsen Dehnavi.

"The budget operational balance deficit is about $75 billion, which indicates lack of sustainable income methods to compensate the government costs," said Dehnavi.

"The predicted figures of sale of state owned properties, issuing oil bonds in the budget plan are facing a $47 billion deficit, the public budget has increased from $135 billion to $200 billion, which is mostly for the government 's regular expenses," he said.

"The reliance on oil revenues has increased in the budget plan," he added.

"If there is no serious change in the budget, the new Iranian year(starts March 21,2021) will have a higher inflation and the Central Bank of Iran won't be able to control it," he said.
