Iran's Khorasan Petrochemical Company reveals value of its exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 6

The Khorasan Petrochemical Company in the North Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) exported petrochemical products worth $43.8 million during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), Executive Director of the company, Alireza Babazadeh told IRNA, Trend reports.

The director emphasized that the company exported more than $40 million worth of ammonia and urea and $2.87 million worth of melamine powder over the reporting period.

Babazadeh added that 200,000 tons of urea, 1,960 tons of ammonia and 3,600 tons of melamine powder were exported by the company in this period.

“In addition, the Khorasan Petrochemical Company produced a total of about 227,000 tons of ammonia, 395,000 tons of urea and 13,800 tons of melamine powder in 9 months,” he said.

The director noted that at the same time, the operation of the Khorasan Petrochemical Company's plant has been suspended for a month due to overhauls.

According to Babazadeh, the sale of the Khorasan Petrochemical Company is expected to exceed $100 million in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to March 21, 2021).
