Demand for dairy products of EAEU countries increases in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan increased the import of condensed and powdered milk and cream by 2.3 times from the countries of the European Economic Union from January through November 2020, compared to the same period year earlier, Trend reports with reference to the Eurasian Economic Commission.

During the reporting period, Turkmenistan imported more than 541.7 tons of condensed and powdered milk and cream from Belarus and Russia for a total of $1.1 million, which is also 2.3 times more than in the same period of 2019.

According to statistics, the share of Belarus in the total export amounted to more than $972,999, Russia's - more than $170,360.

Also, Turkmenistan imported 490.57 tons of cheese and cottage cheese for a total of $1.3 million, which is also 20.8 percent more than from January through November of 2019.

Thus, the exporting countries of cheese and yogurt in this period were Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The share of Belarus in the total export amounted to $609,111, Kazakhstan's - $10,686, and Russia's - $715,972.

In addition, statistics indicate an increase in the export of milk and unsweetened cream from the EAEU to Turkmenistan in the amount of 308.62 tons, worth $180,591. The volume of exports increased by 5.4 times, and the amount by 4.1 times.
