Volume of industrial products manufacture by Turkmenistan's Union of Industrialists, Entrepreneurs increased

The volume of manufacture of industrial products by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan increased by 3.5 percent, agricultural and food products-by 34 percent, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Dovran Khudaiberdiyev said this at a working meeting organized by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which reviewed the results of the development of the country's trade complex last year.

The trade turnover increased by 3.7 percent, and the provision of services to the population-by 10.1 percent.

The comprehensive work is underway to increase the production of import-substituting and export products. As a result of state support for the private sector, the volume of exports of industrial goods and food products to foreign countries has increased.

In accordance with the "Concept for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025", the members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan carry out activities for the introduction of digital technologies. Thus, private companies engaged in trade and services are expanding the scope of online trade, creating mobile electronic applications, and increasingly using the capabilities of popular Internet platforms for remote sales of manufactured goods.

As part of the programs implemented in the country, in 2020, the members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs completed the construction of 44 industrial and social facilities, and a number of production facilities were established.

As reported, from January through November 2020, according to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the growth rate of industrial production increased by 8 percent, agricultural and food production by 37.4 percent.
