Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to over $2.4 billion in January 2021, which is 15.4 percent less than in January 2020, Trend reports with reference to the report of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
In the structure of foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $1.62 billion, which amounted to a 23.8 percent decrease in exports on an annualized basis, said the report.
As reported, the share of exports for the year decreased by 7.37 percentage points to 67.34 percent of the total volume of foreign trade turnover.
“Imports to Azerbaijan in January 2021 amounted to $787.5 million, having increased by 9.2 percent compared to the same period in 2020. The share of imports in the total amount of trade increased by 7.37 percentage points, up to 32.66 percent of the total volume,” the SCC said.
The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis decreased by 40.6 percent, but remained positive, amounting to $836.5 million.
