Turkmenistan allocates land for planting legumes in Dashoguz region

More than 4,000 hectares of land will be allocated for planting legumes and sesame seeds in the Dashoguz region of Turkmenistan in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

The main part of this sown area will be occupied by mug bean, which will be sown on 3,700 hectares. Farmers plan to collect at least 15 quintals from each hectare.

It is planned to receive at least 375 tons of beans in the fall.

Also, it is planned to grow 350 tons of sesame this year in the above-mentioned region of Turkmenistan.

Agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable and fruits.

The development of agriculture is carried out on a scientific basis. Various types of agricultural crops are grown taking into account the agroecological characteristics of the country's regions.

Special attention is paid to increasing the volume of products in Turkmenistan. As a result, in recent years, the country has increased the production of vegetables and fruit and berries and enlarged the area of perennial plants, vineyards and greenhouses.
