Iranian energy minister talks expenses in water and electricity sectors

As many as 291 water and electricity facilities at a cost of 660 trillion rials (about $15.7 billion) have been put into operation in Iran since the beginning current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) up until now, Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

He made the remark in an event dedicated to the launch of water and electricity facilities in Iran yesterday.

Ardakanian noted that the process of the launch of water and electricity facilities in Iran will continue.

The minister added that during the rule of the current government of Iran (which has been in power since August 2013), about 6.7 billion euro and 650 trillion rials (about $15.4 billion) of extra-budgetary investments have been attracted.

Reportedly, 20 water and electricity facilities were launched in 6 provinces of Iran and 83 villages in 17 provinces have been supplied with electricity yesterday. A total of 5.8 trillion rials (about $138 million) was spent on these operations.
