By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

The owner of the Georgian company "Kvareli Baga" will officially register the Domestic Dairy Union in the near future, Trend reports via Georgian media.

As reported, he plans to raise this issue with the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili

"The Domestic Dairy Union is not being created to satisfy narrow commercial interests; The association is being created in order to develop the industry and meet the needs of both the farmer and the consumer,” he said.

Papashvili initiates VAT exemption for dairy products.

“The demand for milk and dairy products in Georgia is growing; At the same time, we see that local production does not meet the demand for food, and the import of milk and milk powder is increasing from year to year,” Papashvili said.

Papashvili says that in many countries industrial milk producers receive direct subsidies and that government support for the sector will help attract new foreign investment into the country.

“In addition, world famous brands can open service centers in Georgia. Today, for example, I have to invite a specialist from Azerbaijan or Israel to replace or repair the Afimilk apparatus,” explains the owner of “Kvareli Baga”.
