Azerbaijan in TOP-5 countries-importers of tea from Russia in 2020

Russia increased the volume of export of tea and coffee by 32 percent to 73,000 tons in 2020, and in value terms - by 30 percent, to $350 million, Trend reports citing the materials of the Federal Center for the Development of Export of Agricultural Products (Agroexport) under the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.

According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution, the leading importing countries of tea from Russia last year (in value terms) were Belarus with a share of 26 percent, Kazakhstan (16 percent), Ukraine (14 percent), Azerbaijan (5 percent), Moldova (5 percent). Israel, Qatar, Latvia and Germany are also among the ten largest buyers of Russian tea.

"In 2020, Russia supplied 73,000 tons of tea and coffee to foreign markets, which is 32 percent more than in 2019. In value terms, exports increased by 30 percent, to $350 million," the federal center said.

“At the same time, the export of ground and grain coffee increased in physical volume by 50 percent, to 12,000 tons, in money - by 33 percent, to $51 million, shipments of instant coffee and products based on it increased by 47 percent, to 40,000 tons and by 52 percent to $194 million, respectively,” the message said.

“Last year, tea and coffee from Russia were exported to more than 60 countries. The leading importing countries of coffee from Russia in 2020 (share in value terms) are Belarus (34 percent), Kazakhstan (13 percent), Ukraine (12 percent), Uzbekistan (6 percent), Georgia (5 percent). Among non-CIS countries, significant volumes of coffee were sent to Israel, the US and Turkey,” the center said.
