Exports from Iran's Isfahan Province decreases

The exports from the Isfahan Province (central Iran) decreased by 21 percent in terms of value and 16 percent in terms of volume in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), Director General for Isfahan Province Customs Office, Rasoul Kuhestani said, Trend reports citing Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The director general emphasized that last year, 6.19 million tons of goods worth $2.07 billion were exported from Isfahan Province.

“The Isfahan Province exported $1.06 billion worth of iron and steel products, $325 million worth of petrochemicals, $84 million worth of carpets and $61 million worth of organic chemicals in the last Iranian year. These goods accounted for 51 percent, 16 percent, 4 percent, 3 percent of the province total exports in terms of value, respectively,” he added.

Kuhestani noted that about $543 million worth of goods from Isfahan Province were exported to Iraq, $300 million worth to China, $276 million worth to the UAE, $231 million worth to Afghanistan and $100 million worth to Indonesia.

According to him, the value of exports from Isfahan Province to Iraq increased by 52 percent, the UAE by 28 percent, Indonesia by 11 percent, while to China decreased by 52 percent and Afghanistan by 18 percent.

The director general said that an average of 17,000 tons of goods per hour were exported from Isfahan Province last Iranian year.
