Domestic Producer Price Index for Industrial Products up in Georgia

The Domestic Producer Price Index for Industrial Products (DPPI) in Georgia increased by 2.1 percent in March 2021 compared to the previous month, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

In the mentioned period, the prices for manufactured products were 2.3 percent higher.

Compared to March 2020 the DPPI increased by 17.1 percent.

The prices went up for manufactured products by 17.6 percent, for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 14.8 percent, for products from mining and quarrying by 13.9 percent and for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services by 7.5 percent.

Share of domestic exports in Georgia's total exports reached 74 percent and amounted to $606.9 million from January through March 2021, 13.6 percent higher compared to the same period of 2020.

Domestic exports include export of goods produced in the country, as well as imported from abroad, the value of which has significantly changed as a result of domestic processing.
