Uzbekistan holds industrial fair and co-op exchange for Afghan businessmen

More than 70 representatives of Afghan business circles will take part in the regional and intersectoral industrial fair and cooperation exchange in the city of Termez, Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

According to the information, a business forum with the participation of Uzbek and Afghan businessmen, a regional and intersectoral industrial fair and cooperation exchange, as well as an exhibition of national products ‘Made in Uzbekistan’ are being held on May 24-26, in the city of Termez, Surkhandarya region.

The Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports that a number of domestic enterprises will demonstrate their products at these events. Conditions have been created for them to hold negotiations with Afghan guests on export and investment issues.

The events will also demonstrate the production and export potential of all districts of the Surkhandarya region, as well as the Tashkent, Fergana, Namangan, Andijan, Samarkand, Kashkadarya, Navoi regions and the city of Tashkent.

It is noted that more than 70 representatives of business circles, as well as governors and officials of a number of provinces of this country arrived in Uzbekistan from Afghanistan to participate in these events. The main events will take place on May 25 at the Palace of Arts in the city of Termez, as well as at adjacent open areas.

Earlier it was reported that the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan from January through April this year amounted to $234.6 million (increase by 9 percent), including exports - $234 million (increase of 9.1 percent).
