BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9
By Fidan Babayeva - Trend:
Azerbaijan’s MKT Istehsalat Kommersiya LLC first of all issues an electronic map of the area and measures the area's water supply and soil fertility level when signing a contract with new farmers, Rufat Ismayilov, a board member of the company, told Trend.
Ismayilov noted that according to the results of the analysis, work is underway to increase soil fertility or to apply planting technology appropriate for the area.
"Along with new farmers, the fields of farmers with whom we have been cooperating for many years are regularly analyzed and measures are being taken to increase soil fertility," he added.
Over the years, according to him, the company has accumulated significant experience in growing and processing cotton in Azerbaijan.
“In addition to this experience, our steps towards the development and implementation of new planting technologies and irrigation systems have also led to a growth in production and quality,” the company’s representative said.
“In order to make our activity successful, we carry out all stages of work with our highly qualified employees, paying particular attention to every detail".
Speaking about entrance to foreign markets, Ismayilov emphasized that the cotton production and processing company exports its products to Turkey, Iran, Russia and the CIS countries.
Along with cotton processing enterprises, reception centers and innovative branches located in the regions, a yarn factory is operating in Baku, and a cottonseed oil factory in Shirvan, he concluded.
As earlier reported, from January through March 2021, MKT Istehsalat Kommersiya LLC, which exported $40 million worth products, became the largest exporter of non-oil products in Azerbaijan among private companies.
