The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Azerbaijan considers Karabakh’s restoration process as one of the main areas of activity in the coming years, Member of the Board of Directors and Vice-President of AmCham Nargiz Nasrullayeva-Muduroglu told Trend on June 14.
According to Nasrullayeva-Muduroglu, Amcham is one of the largest business associations, which is directly involved in the country’s development.
"Taking into account that the process of restoration of Karabakh is a part of sustainable economic development of the whole country, for our organization it is also one of the main directions of activity," she emphasized.
She said a general plan is being prepared for the reconstruction and economic development of the Karabakh region.
“AmCham is ready to consider proposals of state organizations and structures on its possible involvement in the process of implementation and implementation of this plan,” she said. “We also believe that attracting foreign investments in Azerbaijan will be a stimulating factor for the reconstruction and restoration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan [liberated from Armenian occupation as a result of the second Karabakh war from late Sept. to early Nov.2020], economic stability in the region and improvement of the business atmosphere."
AmCham, founded in 1996, consists of more than 260 partners and members operating in every sector of the Azerbaijani economy, and is a leading private non-profit business association that supports and promotes the interests of foreign and local businesses in the country.
