Some 305 companies with Iranian capital were registered in Turkey from January through May 2021, which is 35 companies more compared to the same period of 2020, the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) told Trend.
The total capital of Iranian companies registered in Turkey from January through April 2021 amounted to 59.6 million Turkish liras ($6.79 million), while in the same period of 2020 this figure was 41.9 million liras ($4.77 million).
Most Iranian companies (277) were registered in Istanbul during the reporting period. Their total capital amounted to 51.5 million liras ($5.87 million).
"Of the total number of registered Iranian companies, 24 industrial companies, 11 construction companies, 124 companies engaged in wholesale and retail trade, 9 companies engaged in transport and logistics and 12 travel companies, as well as 38 real estate companies were registered in Turkey," the union said.
"The rest of companies with Iranian capital are involved in other sectors of the economy," TOBB said.
In accordance with the data, the total capital of 43 wholesale and retail trade companies registered during the reporting period amounted to 8.7 million liras (nearly $1 million).
