Kazakhstan ready to expand non-commodity exports to Russia's Tatarstan

Kazakhstan is ready to expand non-commodity exports to Russian's Tatarstan, Trend reports on July 29 referring to a source in Tatarstan's Ministry of Trade and Integration.

According to the source, this issue was discussed during the meeting of Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

So, during the meeting, the parties discussed the state of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and the prospects for increasing the bilateral trade.

In particular, the Kazakh delegation informed the other side about the possibility of expanding the range of exports from Kazakhstan in the amount of $396.3 million. The list of products includes over 100 non-commodity products in various industries.

"We offer Tatarstan to consider the possibility of increasing the organization of import of food products from Kazakhstan, in particular: raw rapeseed oil, pasta, rice, sugar, confectionery and many others,” Torebayev said. “Kazakhstan sees opportunities for cooperation in almost all areas and is ready to offer the Tatarstan consumers a wide range of quality goods.”

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to share opinions on the development of commodity distribution systems.

The parties decided to develop a roadmap for expanding trade and economic cooperation and exchange of experience in various fields. In the near future, it’s planned to set up a working group at the expert level.
