Kazakhstan and Russia’s Tatarstan discussed the possibility of exchanging experience and implementing joint projects related to halal products [manufacturing of food products permissible upon the Islamic laws] and organic products, Trend reports on July 29 referring to a source in the country’s Ministry of Trade and Integration.

According to the source, this issue was discussed during the meeting of Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

The meeting parties said that one of the areas of cooperation could be interaction in the field of dairy farming and the implementation in Kazakhstan of joint projects for deep processing of milk, including on the basis of international centers of cross-border cooperation.

The parties also discussed the possibility of exchanging experience and implementing joint projects in the field of the halal industry and promoting organic products.

Besides, they pointed out the need to jointly move in this direction, and to work out a unified standardization for the halal industry.
