Iran's PMO talks impact of events in Afghanistan on Chabahar dev't project

TEHRAN, Iran, Aug. 23

The Deputy Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran explained the fate of the tripartite Agreement of Chabahar among Afghanistan, India, and Iran amid the Afghanistan crisis.

"At present, the activities of Shahid Beheshti port continue without any disruptions,” Farhad Kouhsari said, Trend reports citing ILNA.

He indicated that all the facilities are ready for unloading and loading goods in Shahid Beheshti port.

“All Shahid Beheshti port of Chabahar equipment are used for transit, export, and imported goods.”

The deputy director of PMO responded to the question of the possibility of stopping the shipment of goods to Afghanistan from Shahid Beheshti port due to the Afghanistan crisis.

Pointing out that the Shahid Beheshti Port has no limit to warehouse goods, he says that there are enough docks in the port to the storage basic, transited, exported, and imported goods.

Kouhsari emphasized that the situation is not predictable in the coming days, but there is over 70 hectares area r to store all kinds of goods on Shahid Beheshti port.
