Iran's tomato exports decreased by 5 percent in terms of value and 9 percent in terms of volume, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, an official of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Mahmoud Bazari said, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.
Bazari noted that Iran exported 262,000 tons of tomatoes worth $126 million within the mentioned period.
The official added that the rise in prices for tomatoes in the country has nothing to do with exports.

Reportedly, according to the statistics of the Statistical Center of Iran, the price of 1 kg of tomatoes in Iran for the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2021), increased by 76.5 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year and amounted to 25,700 rials (about $0.59).
