Iran's raw steel production amounted to about 10.8 million tons during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), which is a decrease of 12 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
Meanwhile, in the first 5 months of the last Iranian year (from March 20 through July 21, 2020), Iran produced 12.3 million tons of raw steel, according to the statistics.
“Furthermore, 7.57 million tons of steel products were produced in Iran over the 5 months. This is a decrease of 11 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 8.54 million tons of steel products were produced in Iran in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

According to the statistics, Iran produced 12.3 million tons of sponge iron within the first five months of the current Iranian year. This is a decrease of 4 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, this figure stood at 12.9 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
