Uzbekistan completes annual textile export plan in 8 months

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 15

By Fakhri Vakilov – Trend:

Enterprises of Uzbekistan’s Uztextilerpom exported textile products for over $1.913 billion for 8 months of 2021, despite the fact that for the whole 2020 the volume of export amounted to $1.9 billion, Trend reports citing Uztextileprom association.

By the end of the year, the volume of export is expected to reach the $3.05 billion mark. On average, enterprises monthly export products worth $238 million.

So, Uzbekistan exported products to 74 countries from January through August of this year. At the moment, Russia remains the leader in the consumption of Uzbek textiles; its share in exports is 32.4 percent ($619.1 million). The second and third places are occupied by China - 23.8 percent ($455.5 million) and Turkey - 13.6 percent ($259.6 million). Kyrgyzstan comes next with 13.2 percent share ($251.6 million). These countries account for 83 percent of total exports or about $1.6 billion.

As a result of Decree of the President of the country of September 7, 2021 "On additional measures to stimulate exporting enterprises" more and more enterprises of the industry were attracted to export activities as the decree simplified the system for exporting products. For example, if in 2020, 977 enterprises exported their products, then by 2021 their number increased to 1,196.
