Georgia's frozen chicken export revenue increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 20

Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Revenue from the export of frozen chicken in Georgia increased by 237 percent in 7 months of 2021, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat).

According to Geostat, from January through July of this year, 2.5 thousand tons of frozen chicken worth $2.7 million were exported from Georgia. In the reporting period of 2020, exports amounted to $801,400 and 615 tons.

TOP-3 export destinations:

Armenia - $2 million / 1,900 tons.
Uzbekistan - $501,300 / 437.4 tons.
Azerbaijan - $189,600 / 197.3 tons.

As for imports, compared from January through July 2020, the value of imported products for the reporting period of this year decreased from $7.1 million to $6 million.

TOP-3 importers of frozen chicken to Georgia in 2021 is as follows:

Brazil - $2.1 million / 2,100 tons
Turkey - $2.7 million / 2,000 tons
Ukraine - $1 million / 821.1 tons.
