Iran shares data on agricultural exports from Hamedan Province

Agricultural products worth $11.7 million have been exported from Hamedan Province, in west-central Iran, since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 21), Trend reports citing IRNA

During the reporting period, exports of agri-food products from Hamedan amounted to 6.3 percent of the total volume and value of agri-food products exports of Iran, an official at Agriculture Jihad Organization of Hamedan Province Hossein Fazli said.

The total export of the agri-food products from Hamedan province in the first 6 months of the current year in terms of weight was 8,977 tons, which is amounted to 13 percent of the total volume of exports of the province, he said.

Referring to the export of processed agricultural products (PAPs) from Hamedan province, he said the volume of 1,455 tons of PAPs were exported in the mentioned period, which is amounted to 2.1 percent of the total volume of exports from the province.

The main destination for Hamedan Province Agri-food products are Italy, Iraq, Turkey, UAE, Russia, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Persian Gulf countries.

Pointing to the main export items from Hamedan Province, Fazli mentioned agricultural products such as Raisins, potatoes, seeds, watermelon, greenhouse products, pickles, dairy products, walnuts, salt, apples, Peaches, coriander, fennel, wool, honey, tomato paste, medicinal plants, tragacanth and a variety of nuts.

“Raisins, garlic, and potatoes are among the main exporting products from Hamadan Province,” he said.

Hamadan province is the first walnut and potato producer per hectare in Iran.
