Exports of Iran through customs of Sistan & Baluchestan Province soar

Iran’s exports through the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) increased by 12 percent in terms of value and 27 percent in terms of volume, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Supervisor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Customs Office Mohammad Ali Khashi said, Trend reports referring to Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to Khashi, 2.47 million tons of goods worth $867 million were exported through the province's customs in 7 months.

“The exported goods were mainly cement, dates, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), coriander seeds, other agricultural products and oil products. These goods were mainly exported to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Oman, and the UAE,” he added.

The official also noted that over 7 months, other Iranian customs exported 1.93 million tons worth $763 million through customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, which is an increase of 78 percent in terms of value and 57 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“These products were mainly oil products, gas, bitumen, cement, ceramics, iron and steel, foodstuffs,” Khashi said.

The official stressed that a total of 1.35 million tons of goods worth $737 million were imported through the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province in 7 months, which is an increase of 57 percent in terms of value and 41 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Khashi said that rice, wheat, barley, corn feed, mango, sugar, sesame seeds, bananas, spare parts, and livestock were the main imported goods through the customs of the province. These goods were imported from Russia, Germany, Denmark, Pakistan, India, Thailand, China and the UAE.

According to him, about 17,300 people entered the country through the customs of the province, and 22,200 people left the country. This is an increase of 38 percent and 12 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
