Iran eyes increase in non-oil exports through customs of Isfahan Province

Iran’s exports through the customs of Isfahan Province increased by 71 percent in value and 20 percent in volume, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General for Isfahan Province Customs Office, Rasoul Kuhestani said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The official said that a total of 1.4 million tons of goods worth about $865 million were exported through the province's five customs in 8 months.

Kuhestani added that 872,000 tons of goods worth about $429 million were exported through the Isfahan border checkpoint within the mentioned period. The exports increased by 70 percent in value and 21 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“At the same time, 348,000 tons of goods worth $294 million were exported through Kashan border checkpoint over eight months, which is an increase of 90 percent in value, and 41 percent in volume, compared to the same period last year,” he said.

The director general also noted that 57,100 tons of goods worth $54.7 million were exported through the customs in the territory of the Mobarakeh Steel Company in 8 months, which is an increase of 26 percent in value, while a decrease of 36 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“In addition, 123,000 tons of goods worth $80.3 million were exported through the customs in the territory of the Esfahan Steel Company over the reporting period. This is an increase of 78 percent in value, and 11 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

Kuhestani stressed that 769 tons of goods worth $7.07 million were exported through the customs of Shahid Beheshti International Airport in 8 months of the current Iranian year. The exports decreased by 32 percent in value and 61 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
