TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.30
Trend:
Iran's membership in the Economic Cooperation Organization could be used effectively to boost Iran's energy trade, energy expert Morteza Behrouzifar told Trend.
"Developing relations between Iran and the ECO members would help the country's energy export," he noted.
"For example, Iran can provide a route to transfer gas from Turkmenistan to other countries," he indicated.
The expert also believes Iran could use its membership in the organization to improve its economic relations with neighboring countries, such as Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He pointed out that although the energy import of these countries isn't significant, it could help Iran's economy to some extent.
