Iran has provided more than 60 trillion rials (about $1.42 billion) for the purchase of agricultural machinery from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to December 8, Director of the Iranian Agricultural Equipment Development Center Kambiz Abbasi said, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Iran.
According to Abbasi, this is 2.5 times more than in the same period last Iranian year.
The director added that more than 40 trillion rials (about $952 million) of the money is provided by government loans.
“More than 21,000 tractors have been delivered to farmers at the expense of these funds. More than 16,000 tractors have been purchased with loans, and more than 4,700 with farmers’ own funds,” he said.
Abbasi also noted that over 420 various combines were delivered to farmers.
The official stressed that 7 trillion rials (about $166 million) were allocated for the purchase of agricultural machinery in the second half of the current Iranian year (October 23, 2021, through March 20, 2022).
