Iran and Kazakhstan can increase their trade turnover by taking mutual steps in many areas, the Iranian co-chair of the Iran-Kazakhstan Joint Chamber of Commerce Amir Abedi told Mizan News Agency, Trend reports.

According to Abedi, mutual investment, implementation of trade projects, promotion of markets, signing of protocols on strengthening economic ties between the two countries can increase trade turnover between the two countries.

The chairman added that Iran's trade turnover with Kazakhstan for the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021) amounted to 478,000 tons worth about $171 million.

“The trade turnover between the two countries decreased by 17 percent in value, while increased by 11.7 percent in volume, compared to last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021). So, the turnover amounted to 428,000 tons worth $205 million in last Iranian year,” he said.
