A total of 1.57 million tons of goods worth more than 121 trillion rials (about $2.88 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (January 22 through January 27, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.
This is a decrease of 14.3 percent in value and 8.9 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (January 15 through January 20, 2022).
So, 1.73 million tons of goods worth more than 141 trillion rials (about $3.36 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.
According to the report, about 1.31 million tons of goods worth about 71 trillion rials (about $1.69 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.
The main products sold in this section were cement, steel, sponge iron, iron ore, zinc ingots, copper, aluminum, lead ingots, molybdenum concentrate, gold bars and etc.
In addition, about 250,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 47.4 trillion rials (about $1.13 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.
The main products sold in this section were bitumen, polymer substances, vacuum bottom, lube cut, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, slaps wax, argon and etc.
Furthermore, about 10,800 tons of various products worth about 2.45 trillion rials (about $58.5 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
