BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. A total of 1.56 million tons of goods worth about 97.2 trillion rials (about $2.31 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (March 26 through March 31, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.
This is a decrease of 30.3 percent in value and 34.2 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (March 12 through March 17, 2022).
So, 2.37 million tons of goods worth about 140 trillion rials (about $3.32 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.
According to the report, about 1.24 million tons of goods worth about 41 trillion rials (about $977 million) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.
The main products sold in this section were cement, steel, sponge iron, iron ore, lead, aluminum and so on.
In addition, about 310,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 55.2 trillion rials (about $1.31 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.
The main products sold in this section were vacuum bottom, bitumen, polymer substances, lube cut, chemicals, base oil, sulfur, argon, and etc.
Furthermore, about 2,260 tons of various products worth about 946 billion rials (about $22.5 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
